Critically acclaimed, award-winning Norwegian choreographer, born in 1962 in Drøbak; grew up in Liberia, West Africa 1967–72. Studied at Norway’s National Ballet Academy (Statens Balletthøgskole) 1984–87 with Henny Mürer; further studies in African dance 1987/88 with Rose Marie Guiraud, in Ivory Coast.
